PROFILE

Nicolas Dimbleby came to Cranleigh, instead of following his brothers to Charterhouse, where he won plaudits for his acting. He started studying figurative sculpture at Edinburgh Art College in 1968, going on to spend time at Goldsmith’s and Central St Martin’s where he took a degree in fine art.

Over the last 40 years he has become established as one of the country’s leading sculptors with his work featuring in a number of cities. In 2015 he was commissioned to work on the new Cranleigh War Memorial which will be unveiled at the end of the sesquicentennial year.
