Sundial

Cranleigh School Sundial

The Sundial was installed on the East wall in 1895, with the motto Pereunt et Impunantur (from the Roam poet Martial and translated as ‘(the sun’s days) perish and are put to account’.   This was moved to the north wall and recalibrated in 1950, and after fading badly was restored in Guy Waller’s time.
